Our Sacred Space series wraps up today and we discover our exploration of the Tabernacle points to one breathtaking truth: God made a way to bring people near through mercy. The story of the Tabernacle is the story of a God who moved into the middle of broken people so mercy could bring them close. And as a result, Sacred Space became a place for each of us to live. We finish our series today at The Mercy Seat and take an aerial view of the Tabernacle as we close. It is going to be a very good day. Get ready to worship and grow!

Could the world’s most sacred artifact have been found in the most shocking location imaginable? This teaching explores the incredible, controversial claims surrounding the discovery of the Ark of the Covenant. We move beyond speculation and examine the theory that the Ark was hidden in a secret chamber beneath Golgotha—the place of the skull.
We’ll unpack the astonishing claims of the man who said he not only found it but also discovered the blood of Christ on the mercy seat, containing a chromosome count that defies science. Is this the ultimate “foolish thing to confound the wise,” or simply a fantastic tale? Sift through the history, the scripture, and the evidence as we explore a theory that, if true, changes everything.

The Sacred Space series has carried us into the Tabernacle. We have been rediscovering the holiness of God and seeing the importance of how every space God is in becomes sacred. Your life is sacred space if you know Jesus and you make every space you move in and out of sacred, because He is with you. Today, we move just explore the tabernacle just a little bit deeper and discover that He is closer than you think. That is really good news and today, you will be vividly reminded of just how amazing God is.

We are exploring the Tabernacle and discovering why it is a Sacred Space. Interestingly enough, we have also found out that the Tabernacle is so much more than we originally thought. It is a place where we are reminded and discover the bigness, the majesty, and the holiness of God. The door is open – it is time to allow your life to become the sacred space it is intended to be.

Today we continue our visit into Sacred Space. We are discovering the bigness and majesty of God. We have ventured back in time and find ourselves in the Tabernacle. Last week we got caught up in the activity, the sights, the sounds, the smells, and the meaning of all that was happening in the outer court yard. Today we step out of the outer court into to the Holy Place. As we pull the tent flap open and step inside, with a soft rustling sound it closes behind us. This new space is quiet, a stark contrast of the noise just outside. There is a soft glow that illuminates everything around us. The source of that light is the lampstand. We get closer to it … we look… and what we see helps us to understand more about how we are to become the sacred space in the world around us. It should be fun and dare we say – illuminating! (See what we did there?) Get ready to experience Sacred Space once again.

We’ve sanitized worship. We’ve made it clean, comfortable, and convenient. But the Bible presents a different picture. Step into the outer court of the tabernacle and stand before the altar of burnt offering—a place of blood, fire, and smoke. A place where forgiveness wasn’t just a feeling; it was a messy, costly, and intentional act.
This message contrasts the visceral reality of Old Testament sacrifice with our often-casual approach to God. By understanding what it truly meant to approach a holy God, we expose a critical weakness in modern faith: our tendency to serve God only when it fits our schedule. This is a call to move beyond a “drive-thru” faith and rediscover the power and purpose that only comes through genuine, costly sacrifice.
